Here is the latest news from Serbia: https://rs.usembassy.gov/covid-19-information/. Like the rest of the world, things in Serbia are not looking good for the foreseeable future.
So, after some time of reflection and prayer, Ana Marija and I have made the decision to postpone our large wedding celebration that was scheduled for May 31 in Serbia, due to the coronavirus. You no longer need to RVSP for this event; do not buy plane tickets, and if you already have, please try to get a refund as soon as possible.
If somehow the borders open and I (Judah) can manage to enter Serbia without too much risk, we will probably still get married on or around May 31, but with a very small number of close family (probably just Ana Marija’s siblings, us two, and the minister). Once this crisis is over, we would then plan a large Serbian post-wedding reception on some other date, which we will announce on this website. However, if the situation does not change and I cannot get over there (and she cannot get over here), we will need to postpone even the hope of a tiny wedding.
We are still tentatively keeping our August 22 Ohio wedding reception in place, but we will inform you if we have to postpone that celebration as well (wedding receptions in Ohio are currently limited to 10 people).
Amidst all the uncertainty, Ana Marija and I are at peace and are trusting God one step at a time. May everyone’s faith be rooted deeper in God, and may our attention and concern be drawn to our neighbors who may need a helping hand during this difficult time. We are so sorry for the inconvenience that these changes have posed for some of you, and we thank you all so much for your understanding during these times of uncertainty. Again, we will try to keep you posted as the situation develops.
Much love from Ana Marija and I! We hope and pray that you and your loved ones are all in good health and are finding creative ways of serving those in need.
“Don’t worry about anything, but in everything, through prayer and petition with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus.”
Philippians 4:6-7
We Love You All,
Judah and Ana Marija
